Houghton Fall 2015

by Dena Silver

Brimming with menswear-inspired styles, Katharine Polk yet again looked towards Katharine Hepburn for a dose of easy-chic inspiration. This meant many impressive jackets, low-slung trousers, and long layers of knits. As for glamorous dresses? There were plenty of those, too, from a golden number with a wrap and twist detail to a black lace frock that showed off an impressive amount of skin. Also to note: the scarves, which were oversized and covered in Mongolian lamb fur. We’d happily don that green, black, and grey knit two-piece outfit to ward off this current blistering cold spell. There was a touch of the militaristic, too, present in details like a long line of buttons on a shirt dress and utilitarian Doc Martens on the pieds.
