H&M Studio to Launch Capsule Collection with Parisian Concept Store Colette

by Kristen Heinzinger

H&M has another collab up its sleeve! The mass retailer is teaming up with Paris-based concept store Colette for an H&M Studio August/Winter ’17 capsule collection of nine pieces. What to expect? A special color palette inspired by Colette’s signature blue, hand-painted graffiti and punk influences, feminine silhouettes, and two unique designs: a navy and vibrant blue A-line anorak-poncho hybrid in a wool-nylon mix and a blue high-neck chiffon mini-dress with ruffled cuffs.

“We really thought about the modern woman’s wardrobe and what she needs in it—sharp outerwear, soft dresses, flattering knits and statement accessories,” said Pernilla Wohlfahrt, H&M’s head of design and creative director. “For the H&M Studio x colette collection in particular, we not only combined contrasting fabrics in a garment, but also brought in more color contrast with the signature colette blue, which created a more graphic structure and a new, fearless attitude.”

“There is a real arty yet urban vibe to the H&M Studio x colette pieces, which not only feels right for the store, but also for like-minded women all around the world,” said Sarah Andelman, founder and creative director at Colette. “They want that combination of striking yet wearable and, of course, be completely au courant.”

The H&M Studio x Colette collaboration launches on August 21 in-store and online at Colette for two weeks, and will be available with selected pieces from the core H&M Studio AW17 collection when it’s globally released on September 14.
