Between yesterday’s sustainable fashion live-panel discussion and their second Conscious Exclusive collection events last night, H&M has been busy! It wasn’t just New Yorkers that got in on the eco-friendly fashion, though. With used clothes in tow, shoppers in New York, San Francisco, West Hollywood and Miami joined Jessica Stroup, Penn Badgley, Victoria Justice, and Jessica Lowndes, to celebrate sustainability. The collection, which hit 25 U.S stores yesterday, is comprised of men’s and women’s red carpet looks made from more sustainable materials such as organic cotton, silk-like Tencel, recycled polyester, and tulle. During the fête, guests shopped and noshed on organic hors d’oeuvres while, in turn, receiving a 25 percent discount for bringing in clothes. When asked for his green words of wisdom in New York, Badgley remarked that the eco-line was a “step in the right direction that a lot of us need to be making towards living more sustainably.” Plus, “it helps when the clothes look good!” Touché, Gossip boy!
