(NEW YORK) The first-ever recipient of the Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Community Service at the Golden Heart Awards Dinner will be Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on October 16th. Why was Clinton the chosen one? “Thanks to her talent, devotion and unrelenting efforts on behalf of those with much less, she has improved millions of lives and helped lay the foundation for a better, more just world,” Kors said in a statement. The seventh annual Golden Heart event, hosted by God’s Love We Deliver, is a philanthropic evening that recognizes the those working to end world hunger, among other noble feats. God’s Love We Deliver provides meals and nutrition counseling, free of charge, to people struggling with severe illnesses and life-threatening diseases, and Kors has been a longtime supporter of the organization.

Kors, who was a past honoree at the same event, will serve as an event co-chair this year, along with Blaine Trump. Also being honored at the feast, which is slated to take place at Spring Studios (as will most of the buzziest events on your calendar this fall, it’s safe to say), will be Aerin Lauder, receiving the Golden Heart Award for Lifetime Achievement alongside Jeff Gates and Mike Moran, recipients of the Golden Heart Award for Outstanding Volunteerism.
