Bruce Weber shoots for Versace

Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss were just youngsters the last time Bruce Weber shot for Versace, 17 years ago, but the house has brought the legendary photographer back for its Fall/Winter campaign and placed the industry’s biggest stars in front of his camera. Gigi, Karlie, and lesser-known mod Dilone headed to Chicago for the shoot that features looks from the men’s and women’s collections.

“Bruce Weber is the true master of our times,” Donatella Versace said in a statement today. “His photography is deeply personal and rich, a reflection of the world as he sees it. It has been my pleasure to enter once again into that world for this Versace campaign. With this new campaign, Bruce gave me my history back.” The two first worked together when Weber shot the 1990 Versace campaign. “When I first spoke with Donatella about going to Chicago she said, simply—yes, let’s pack up and go!” Weber said. “Donatella has always been an adventurer and not only does she treat me like a prince, she treats me like family—and the feeling is mutual. The most important thing to me, after all these years, is that we can still laugh together.”

Videos directed by Weber are on the way, with his cut of the campaign video making its premiere at Versace’s SS17 men’s show in Milan this month.
