Milan-based fashion house Philipp Plein has tapped Graziano de Boni to serve as its president and CEO for the Americas. De Boni, an Italian national, has spent much of his career in New York overseeing the U.S. businesses of the likes of Valentino, Prada, and most recently, Giorgio Armani. “I am very happy to have Mr. De Boni on board,” said Plein in a statement. “He will help our team to develop our fast-growing business in the Americas and bring his extensive experience in luxury and fashion to support our global strategy.” Plein founded his eponymous brand in Munich in 1998, and it has grown into a global powerhouse that includes womenswear, menswear, accessories, and children’s apparel. In 2008, Philipp Plein opened its first store in Monte Carlo and it moved its showroom to Milan. Today, the label operates monobrand boutiques in Milan, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, Seoul, Saint-Tropez, Barcelona, and more, with plans to open outposts in Istanbul and Beirut, among other locales, this year. “I am very excited to join Philipp and his team in this new role and contribute to further growth [of] his incredible brand and business,” said de Boni.

Dear Ashley, I am a new subscriber to your excellent publication and a very old friend of Graziano’s! I hasten to add I’M not very old, but I have known him for over 20 years. I knew him when I owned and edited SPIN magazine. I’d love to get in touch with him — would you mind forwarding him this message please? I want to congratulate him and buy him a drink! Thanks!
All the best, Bob Guccione Jr.
