Grace Coddington wants to make one thing perfectly clear: She is not a fan of Instagram, brandishing it a “pathetic” platform for things no one cares about. (Ouch.)
The creative director told Vogue: “I hate Instagram, actually. I think it really interferes with people’s lives and things and it’s pathetic how everyone’s photographing everything they’re eating all the time. Everybody uses it instead of reading the newspapers these days. People want you to know that they’re holidaying in Greece. I mean, really.”
(For the record: Grace Coddington’s Instagram was once deactivated for a nude post, although, she argues, it was a cartoon.)
Coddington ends the argument by setting the record straight once and for all about that controversial cover with Kimye. “That’s who everybody wants to know about, so let’s try to do it better than most people,” she said. Which is why, Coddington added, she chose the inimitable Annie Leibovitz to shoot it. Considering Coddington is the creative genius of the 21st century and Kimye is a cultural phenomenon, The Daily is with her on this one.
