Another must-have fashion book is on the way. Grace Coddington took to Instagram to announce that she is illustrating a new tome about Marc Jacobs’ career. Work on the monograph — titled Marc Jacobs Illustrated — began in 2016 when Jacobs asked Coddington to select and draw pieces from his archives. She drew looks from 50 of his collections, dating back to 1993 with his infamous Grunge collection for Perry Ellis, all the way up to his Spring ’19 line.
The book features commentary by Jacobs on his work and pop culture. Meanwhile he tapped his other longtime friend, Sofia Coppola, to pen the introduction. Marc Jacobs Illustrated is published by Phaidon and comes out May 22. It is available for pre-order online now.
