Glamour Names Florence Kane Digital Fashion Director

Glamour has appointed Florence Kane as its new digital fashion director. Kane was previously a freelance writer for Vogue.com, T: The New York Times Magazine’s website, and Marie Claire. Kane is also the co-founder and editorial director of jeanstories.com, a site where various fashion industry vets discuss denim. Former fellow Voguette and Travel + Leisure style director, Jane Herman Bishop, serves as the site’s co-founder and creative director. She also previously served as a fashion news writer for Vogue for five years and later as the style editor at C Magazine in Los Angeles.

In her new role at Glamour, Kane will oversee digital fashion content, which will include features and daily stories, as well as social media programming and visual social fashion concepts on Instagram and Snapchat. According to the glossy, the site has roughly 10 million monthly unique visitors.

“Florence’s extensive experience covering fashion news, trends, and designers will prove essential to ensuring Glamours continued success as a leading fashion destination for women,” said Anne Sachs, executive digital director at Glamour. “Her refined eye and strong industry contacts will help us develop inspiring, actionable fashion content across all platforms for the modern American woman.” Kane takes her new post on January 4, 2016.
