It’s that time of the year again, when the Glamour “think tank” compiles the standout achievements in entertainment, fashion, politics, and business from the past 12 months and whips up a list of the most remarkable women for its Women of the Year Awards. But this year, there’s a twist: there is a Man of the Year, and he goes by Bono. The musician and philanthropist is being recognized for launching Poverty Is Sexist, a campaign that works to help the world’s poorest women. First on the to-do list: Document the link between poverty and gender and send the info to every president and prime minister in the world.
“In this historic year for women, Glamour is proud to honor these wonderful and wildly diverse trailblazers,” said EIC Cindi Leive. “Each honoree, including our first-ever Man of the Year, Bono, is changing the conversation and the culture, and making life better not just for herself—or himself!—but for all women.”
The ceremony, which takes place on November 14 in Los Angeles at 7 p.m., will be emceed by Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross. Without further ado, the list!
