Giorgio Armani's One Night Only Star Studded Affair

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) It was a one night stand for Giorgio Armani last night on the West Side at the Hudson River Park SuperPier. In a huge constructed venue that was 12 days in the making, the designer presented a runway show with models like Lindsey Wixson, Liya Kebede, Christina Kruse, and Frankie Rayder showing off the clothing to a slew of editors like Graydon Carter, Anna Wintour, Glenda Bailey, Stefano Tonchi, and Anne Fulenwider, to name a few.

Upon entering the venue guests could take a right into an exhibition entitled “Eccentrico”, which displayed some of the designers greatest hits from his 2005 Giorgio Armani Privé to his recent Fall couture pieces. We think Armani should consider putting these on display for more than one night! Afterwards the party got started in an enormous sleek room whose décor matched the modernist Armani aesthetic as Mark Ronson DJ’ed to a very enthused dance floor. So lavish were the surroundings and scene one party goer commented, “This feels like an 80’s Wall Street party!” Meanwhile, VIP’s like Leonardo DiCaprio (star of The Wolf of Wall Street) and his rumored to be new girlfriend Victoria’s Secret model Toni Garrn (yes, he’s onto another one!) partied in one of the couch and table settings that was heavily blocked off with body guards. The affair was so heavily star studded you could have confused it with a film premiere. Everyone from DiCaprio bestie Martin Scorsese to Glenn Close, Hilary Swank, Naomi Watts, Ellen Barkin, Renee Zellweger, Dianna Agron, Jeremy Irons, Olivia Munn and even little Quvenzhané Wallis showed up to fête Mr. Armani’s return to the Big Apple after a four year hiatus.

So what should Mr. Armani do during his stay in the city that never sleeps? “He should spend some time in Central Park and explore the Upper East Side and Midtown and then at night go downtown and hang out with young people at The Standard or explore the East Village and have dinner at Mogador,” said Bryan Boy. And what did he think Mr. Armani should do for one night only? “Take off that damn t-shirt! We want to see the abs!” And what would Linda Fargo like to do for one night only? “I don’t think we can talk about that!” said Fargo. “It would definitely be romantic! I can tell you that! It would be a little risqué and glamorous and I’d be wearing something beautiful and unexpected.” Saucy! We love it.

Fargo was decked out in a festive ensemble pre-Halloween wearing a black feathered hat from New York Vintage with a matching black feathered Naeem Kahn jacket and a black Cushnie et Ochs dress. “Anybody who knows me knows that I love Ravens. They have so much symbolism,” Fargo told us. So what’s she going to wear come October 31st? “I’m going to Allison Sarofim’s party and the theme is Gauguin so I’m starting with a tan!” said Fargo. “Now I don’t know what’s going to happen the following week when I go back to my civilian life and I’m covered in white and brown patches. I hear spray tans don’t wear well.” And Bryan Boy? “I’m in touch with the PR at Manolo Blahnik looking for nude criss cross Manolo Blahnik sandals and I’m going to wear a jeweled necklace.” We think you know exactly who he means.

As for the event Bryan Boy quipped, “It’s so chic! I got to Milan and I go to Armani shows, but as soon as you walk in the room here, six feet away from the entrance door it smells so expensive!” And judging by the scale of this event, there’s absolutely no doubt it was. But when you’ve amassed a fortune of over $8 billion from your designs these things are mere pocket change, non?
