Another juicy media tidbit in the fash week lead-up! When the sale of WWD to Penske Media was announced by Condé Nast two weeks ago, it was also reported that Fairchild Fashion Media’s CEO and president, Gina Sanders, would be getting a new gig and staying in the Condé family. The top exec’s new role has been disclosed: she will become president of global development at the company. After 26 years at Condé, Sanders will tackle 30 markets around the globe in her new gig, and she’ll work from both Paris and New York. She will report to both Chuck Townsend and Jonathan Newhouse in her new role. Sanders is the first to hold this title, which focuses on creating new business opportunities while leveraging resources around the globe. “The opportunity to envision and activate the power of Condé Nast on a global scale is exhilarating. Working with Jonathan, Chuck, our terrific teams around the world and our cherished business partners is a dream come true,” she said in a statement. Her prior gigs chez Condé have included stints as VP and publisher at the likes of Lucky, Teen Vogue, Details, and Gourmet.
