Getting Cheeky With Giejo’s Gabby Sabharwal

Au revoir, Miami! But before we part ways with South Beach ’til next season’s catwalks at Miami Swim Week, here’s a bit more bikini banter to enjoy. Your Daily carved out a few hours to peruse the other shows: the trade shows. Nestled in Cabana’s chic tent, we ran into Giejo’s Gabby Sabharwal. The former PR maven’s print-heavy line of suits are made for mixing and matching; Sabharwal filled us in on what she’s feeling this season.

What’s your brand’s M.O.?
I’m really influenced by street style and the runway. The collection is definitely based on fashion, as opposed to the typical beachy inspiration.

Have you always been a big fan of mixing and matching bathing suits?
That’s how I’ve always dressed! I always loved shopping for separates, and I made my brand so you can wear one of my pieces with one of your old pieces. Wearing a matching bathing suit just feels boring to me.

What are you obsessed with lately?
I’ve been loving the new John Legend song “All Of Me.” He’s been around for a while, but I just discovered him!

When you’re in Miami, what’s your must-have food?
Oh, they have the best Cuban food! We just found a new place called Le Sandwicherie, which is my new favorite spot.

What summer trend is on your loathe list?
I really hate booty shorts. Seeing some butt cheek hanging out is not attractive. Save that for the beach…or don’t wear at all!   Giejo
