Ready for some happy Monday morning news? Gemma Ward‘s comeback appears to have some lasting power. Following her surprise appearance on the Prada runway this past September, she’s now covering Vogue Australia’s December issue. While she recently took on cover duty for the Australian mag Sunday Style back in October, she seems pretty officially back in the game since a Vogue cover is involved. It’s the celebratory 55th anniversary issue of the mag’s Oz edition, with a space-age theme. Looks like the future has arrived and it includes a whole lot of the otherwoldly-looking mod. Ward has been deeply missed by the fashion flock since she left the catwalk grind six years ago. The Vogue cover was styled by the mag’s senior fashion editor Christine Centenera and captured by photog Emma Summerton, and the glossy tapped special effects firm Animal Logic to make the whole shoot seem extremely futuristic. So, what’s inside this celebratory issue? Vogue‘s site promises an interview with Ward and her sister, Sophie Ward, plus a shoot with Lindsey Wixson playing in the cornfields near Paris. Please, let’s keep the Ward updates coming!
