Game Changer Alert! Sirine Swed and Lilliana Vazquez’s New Lash Transforming App

by Paige Reddinger

Makeup apps and false eyelashes are hardly new to the industry, but Battington, a new app from founder Sirine Swed and creative director Lilliana Vazquez, might be a game-changer. The app allows you to shop for 100 percent silk and 3D eyelashes that you can try on virtually, thanks to Battington’s partnership with augmented reality shopping platform FaceCake. But the best part of all is how light the silk lashes feel on. While most falsies weigh down your eyes (we always want to rip ours off), Battington’s silk lashes feel like second skin. We tried them and barely noticed we were wearing them, except for the hundreds of compliments we received.

The most popular are the Monroe lashes, which look dramatic enough to make a difference but can easily transition from day to night, but the app offers six different styles. Each pair of lashes retails from $22 to $28 and can be worn up to 25 times…you do the math.

Swed, a former vice president of sales in the pharmaceutical industry (a notorious boys club), found she was suddenly and surprisingly out of a job when she got pregnant with her child. Not long after, she began formulating her idea for Battington. After making a TV appearance to promote her company, Swed met Vazquez, who was so sold on the product she decided to come on board as creative director and help bring on investors. Since Swed founded the company in 2015, it can be found online at Battington and in select beauty boutiques and premier department stores worldwide, including Violet Grey, Credo Beauty, REVOLVE Beauty, and select Anthropologie locations.
