Former Hanley President Frederick Anderson Launches Eponymous Collection

by The Daily Front Row

Frederick Anderson, who was most recently president of Hanley for almost three years and president of Douglas Hannant for 17, has decided to venture into the design business with his own eye after two decades in the industry. Anderson launched his eponymous collection this season, which is entitled “Black Like Me”. The idea behind the collection name?  “Can color define a race? If black is my race yet it’s not a color, then should I be defined by all colors, and therefore all the races that have impacted my specific black hue?” says Anderson in the collection video. “Though many people insist on seeing people as a color, I think underneath most Americans, like my collection, are black  like me in all its layers.” According to Anderson, the collection is meant to explore how black absorbs color. It is also targeted to an audience of 35 and older—a.k.a. not millennials. There are plenty of women out there who are’t looking for streetwear references in their wardrobes, after all.

The see now, buy now collection is available to select clients, by appointment only. Select pieces from the collection will be made available at frederickandersoncollection.com by May 2017.
