Former David Yurman CEO Glen Senk Launches New Venture With Berkshire Partners

(NEW YORK) After two years as CEO at David Yurman, industry veteran Glen Senk is teaming up with Boston-based investment firm Berkshire Partners to co-invest in retail and consumer businesses. Berkshire partners has initially committed $350 million to upcoming investments and Senk will be putting some of his own money into the new venture as well. The new investment firm will be called Front Row Partners LLC, where Senk will hold the title of chairman and CEO.

“The consumer marketplace is rapidly evolving, with tremendous opportunities for innovative entrepreneurs with exciting new concepts and go-to-market-strategies,” said Senk in a press statement. “Our goal through this partnership is to invest in consumer and retailing businesses and help them accelerate their strategies to become industry leaders.” Front Row Partners is said to be looking to invest in innovative consumer companies in all categories and that includes wholesales, stores, and e-commerce. Prior to his two-year stint at David Yurman, Senk was CEO of fast fashion retailer Urban Outfitters and has held senior executive positions at Anthropologie, Williams-Sonoma, Habitat, and Bloomingdales. Senk, who is widely connected in the fashion business: he has served as a mentor to Tory Burch, and has served on the board of her company as well. Senk is currently on the board of Melissa & Doug and has served on the boards of Bare Escentuals, Cooking.com, David Yurman, and Urban Outfitters.
