Fleur du Mal Explores Extended Sizing Through New Collaboration With Model Precious Lee

by Charles Manning

The plus-size market is worth a lot of money, yet most luxury brands are still unwilling to size-up their product to meet consumer demand, especially in the high-end lingerie space. It’s a huge missed opportunity, one that New York-based intimates and ready-to-wear brand Fleur du Mal is happy to take advantage of. Partnering with model Precious Lee, Fleur du Mal just released their first luxury capsule collection in extended sizes. The four piece collection is available today at Fleurdumal.com.

“Women shouldn’t have to feel less sexy because they don’t have access to more options,” said Lee. “I love Fleur du Mal’s brand and now women with my sized boobs or bigger have access to a luxury brand that sells both lingerie and ready to wear; it’s like double the inclusivity. Women should be able to celebrate themselves if they want with luxury lingerie and clothing that was designed with them at the core of the inspiration. Period. I am so grateful to have this partnership with a brand that understands that.”

To celebrate the launch, Jennifer Zuccarini, founder and creative director of Fleur du Mal, and Lee hosted an intimate dinner at Chinatown cocktail bar Peachy’s. The intimate event was attended by industry insiders, tastemakers, and fashion designers who support the movement towards more size-inclusive options in the industry, including Christian Siriano, Aurora James, Candice Huffine, Nicolette Mason, Lindsay Peoples, and Alessandria Garcia.

“Fleur du Mal is proud to collaborate with Precious Lee, a woman who embodies the brand’s spirit by embracing her sexuality and femininity” said Zuccarini. “This collection was a natural next step for Fleur du Mal and we look forward to creating more pieces together. The inaugural four-piece collection features Fleur du Mal’s signature Lily Lace Embroidery bra and panty set, and Italian silk trench that can also be worn as a wrap dress.

“This collaboration is so important to me for so many reasons,” added Lee, who fought to hold back tears. “One of the main reasons is having the opportunity to integrate my love as a model, my love as a creative, and my love for uplifting women of all sizes. This is the first time Fleur du Mal has extended their sizes, and I could not be more proud that I am the first to collaborate in this capacity.”

The collection is available now on Fleurdumal.com and is priced at $138 for the high-waisted thong and garter belt (1x-3x), $168 for the longline bra (36DD-42G), and $995 for the silk trench (14-24).
