Ferragamo Matriarch Dies, Sparking Jump in Company Shares (Bloomberg)
Ferragamo remains one of the few independent luxury companies on the market. But after Wanda Ferragamo passed away last Friday at the age of 96, many are wondering if the company might be open to a buyout. Wanda was a major shareholder, and adamant that Ferragamo remain in the control of the family. Now that she is gone, speculation is high that Ferragamo will sell soon, to the point that stocks jumped 8.8% in Milan.
Balenciaga Is Being Sued by an Air Freshener Maker (The Fashion Law)
In a news story that is practically begging for a bad pun about things not “smelling” right, Balenciaga is being sued by the company that makes tree-shaped air fresheners for cars. CAR-FRESHNER Corporation and Julius Sämann Ltd. allege that the luxury house’s tree-shaped keychains are “deliberately designed to replicate” their LITTLETREES Air Fresheners, which they say will cause confusion among consumers and hurt their brand. The $260 keychains are the same size and colors as the LITTLETREES air fresheners and Balenciaga’s website lists a “Car fresheners inspiration” in the product description.

Victoria’s Secret Releases First Look at Mary Katrantzou Collaboration (Vogue)
Only a few weeks after it was announced Victoria’s Secret has revealed its first few looks from its Mary Katrantzou capsule collection. “I wanted the collection to be colorful and uplifting, bold, and strong,” she told Vogue. “The pieces can be worn as undergarments or as actual clothing, so all the fabrications have dual purpose. I wanted to stay true to our brand heritage, so pattern and color are integral to the collection, but we always kept the Victoria’s Secret girl central to the design process.” The full collection will be unveiled during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on November 8.

Brian Atwood Hints That Kendall Jenner Will Walk the VS Runway Again (Elle UK)
In other VS news, it appears that shoe designer Brian Atwood might have just let it slip that Kendall Jenner will be walking the show. “Can’t wait to see this beauty @kendalljenner strutting in my shoes for the @victoriassecret fashion show,” he wrote on Instagram. Jenner hasn’t walked the show since 2016.
