Ferragamo opened their latest exhibition, “Equilibrium”, curated by Sergio Risaliti and Stefania Ricci at the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo in Florence, Italy last night. The exhibition is part of the celebration of Florence honoring Firenze as the Hometown of Fashion in association with the 60th anniversary of the Center of Italian Fashion. The exhibition includes works from Matisse, and Degas, as well as contemporary artists Bill Viola and Marina Abramovic loaned to them by museums and art galleries such as Hermitage Museum and the Musée Rodin. Spotted were members of the Ferragamo family, plus folks like Will Self and Lola Schnabel, wearing Ferragamo. Even the locals were welcome in the celebration with the Firenze Danza Ballet Company performing outside of the venue in Piazza Santa Trinita. If you’re Florence-bound this year, you have until April 2015 to catch the exhibition. It’s a must see.
