7 Fall Mini-Trends Gaining Steam at NYFW

by Charles Manning

It’s only day four of New York Fashion Week and already the trends are starting to make themselves known. Whether or not these particular trends have the power to make it all the way through Paris remains to be seen, but they’re certainly on their way.

1. Hot Pink
Super hot. The hottest.

2. Sci-fi
It’s sort of like Terminator-meets-The Matrix circa 1991.

3. Asymmetric Necklines
These dynamic necklines have “magazine cover” written all over them!

4. Sheer Turtlenecks
You know, for to layer.

5. Off-the-Shoulder

6. Velvet
I know, I know, velvet in fall… groundbreaking! but a lot of this velvet is also mixed with sheer to lighten it up, so that’s a little different.

7. Whatever This Is
What should we call these? Underwire crop tops? Camel humps? Upside-down camel humps? That’s horrible, but it’s the best I can do right now. If this trend continues, someone is going to have to come up with a better name that that, but for now…
