Exhibition To Be Held For Dries Van Noten At Antwerp’s MoMu Museum

by Paige Reddinger

Calling all Dries Van Noten diehards! In case you missed the Belgian designer’s Paris exhibition last year, Antwerp’s MoMu Museum of Fashion will be showing the universe of Dries and his unique creative process this month. The Belgian version will highlight some of the designer’s “themes” that were previously not featured, including youth, the archetype, ambiguity, and passion; it also encompasses anonymous 19th century pieces, as well as works by Elsa Schiaparelli and Christian Dior, that inspired those motifs in Van Noten’s work. The exhibition will also feature works from artists and designers including Elizabeth Peyton, Ryan McGinley, and Pierre Balmain. That’s in addition to Van Noten’s own pieces of fashion artwork, bien sûr. The exhibition opens on February 13th and will remain open until July 19th. Summer jaunt to Europe, anyone?
