Emily Weiss and Rihanna Named to Fortune’s 40 Under 40

Earlier today, Fortune released their annual 40 Under 40 list of the most influential young[ish] people in business. This year’s list is the publications most gender-balanced ever, featuring 18 women, five of them pioneers in the beauty and fashion industries.

1. Emily Weiss, 33
In just a couple of years, Glossier, of which Weiss is founder and CEO, has become the Millenial-friendly beauty brand all other beauty brands aspire to be. No wonder it is valued at $390 million.

2. Rihanna, 30
Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty line rpeortedly pulled in more than $100 million dollars in its first 40 days, earning it a spot on Time‘s list of the best investments of 2017. Also, she’s Rihanna.

3. Sumaiya Balbale, 37
As the head of marketing for Walmart.com, digital marketing for Walmart U.S., and all the company’s social media, Balbale is helping move the company into the digital age and enabling them to compete with the likes of Amazon.

4. Jennifer Hyman, 37
Rent the Runway, of which Hyman is cofounder and CEO, is said to be worth more than $700 million. Hyman is also a board member at Estée Lauder.

5. Katrina Lake, 35
Founder and CEO of Stitch Fix, Lake took her company public last year, becoming the only woman to take a tech startup public in 2017. The company is currently valued at $3 billion dollars and is on track to bring in $1.2 billion in revenue this year alone.
