Emanuel Ungaro Parts Ways with Creative Director Fausto Puglisi

by Sydney Sadick

Just when it seemed like designer shake-ups have calmed down, news of another designer switch-up has dropped, this time for French fashion house Emanuel Ungaro. After five years at the helm of the brand, creative director Fausto Puglisi is parting ways. The house has already tapped new talent, Marco Colagrossi, who will serve as creative director of the women’s ready-to-wear collection. Colagrossi previously served as senior fashion designer for womenswear at Giorgio Armani and has consulted for other ready-to-wear brands. He was also senior women’s designer at Dolce & Gabbana, leading the ready-to-wear collections and special celeb projects.

While Emanuel Ungaro skipped the Paris Fashion Week show calendar this season, it will resume with its cruise line in June, the first collection to be designed by Colagrossi. The house has also signed a production agreement with Italian manufacturer CIEFFE Srl and appointed brand management consultant Angela Casiero to oversee all North American operations including strategic marketing, public relations, and brand growth.
