Elie Saab's Stylish Bash At The Four Seasons Georges V

by The Daily Front Row

It was the height of haute earlier this week at Elie Saab’s cocktail party at the uber chic Four Seasons Hotel on the Georges V in Paris. Walking into the courtyard, guests mingled beneath a hanging canopy of flowers, the lush space dotted with three emerald green sequined Haute Couture downs that were highlighted on a stage. The effect? Sort of like walking into an episode of Robin Leach’s Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous”. The room was filled with Saab’s swanky couture clientele, many of whom had flown in for his show and his alone. Chicsters like Clotilde Courau, Karmen Pedaru, Olivia Palermo, Stacy Keibler, and Toni Garrn were on site for the occasion. Fun fact! Saab is reportedly the most profitable designer on the couture circuit. And Saab’s couture adorers span all ages: Pretty young starlets like Taylor Swift are part of the designer’s roster, and not by means of celebrity placement. Swift apparently buys full price and keeps every single gown in the hopes of one day putting them on display for all to see (now that’s one way to get your money back!). Meanwhile, Saab’s haute couture manager, Jean Paul Cornut, told us that it’s mother and daughters alike who come to buy Saab’s gowns. “Sometimes a mother, daughter, and friend come to buy a dress and when one of them says they like a dress the others will say, ‘Me too! Me too!’” said Cornut. “It’s like a competition between them! It’s good for us.” No doubt! So what’s one of the biggest buys he’s had? “We’ve had women who will buy up to 10 dresses at once. They have to come to Paris for the first fitting, and then after that we will fly to them for the rest of the fittings.” Frankly, that’s pretty fabulous, right?
