Editor’s Pick: Tod’s Gommino Micro Bag

by Charles Manning

What: A chic little bag made from panels of dark brown python-stamped leather and buttery-soft beige leather, embellished with tiny metal studs. It also comes with a playful (and removable) logo strap.

(Barneys New York)

Who: Filippo Della Valle founded Tod’s in 1920. In the beginning, Tod’s was just a small shoemaking business run out of his basement. Then, in the 1970s, Della Valle’s grandson, Diego, expanded the workshop and began the process of transforming the company into the luxury goods conglomerate it is today.

Why: This marks the first time Tod’s is being distributed at select Barneys locations and on Barneys.com. The bag is part of a capsule collection of eight signature Tod’s handbag styles from the spring 2018 collection, with this particular color-way and material being exclusive to the retailer.

Where: Available exclusively at Barneys.com.

How (much): $2,725

Last week, Barney’s hosted a cocktail party and private dinner with Tod’s and Blake Lively to celebrate the capsule collection’s launch. Check out some fun pics from the event below.
