(NEW YORK) In search of the next Prabal Gurung, The Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation has just announced its newest award recipients for 2011. Each lucky designer will receive the coveted $25,000 grant to fund their collection at New York’s Fashion Week this February, following in the footsteps of notable past winners such as Derek Lam, Erin Fetherston, and Zac Posen. EDFF 2011 title-holders include Bibhu Mohapatra, The Lake & Stars, M. Patmos, and Mandy Coon in the Women’s Design category, Native Son in the Men’s Design category, Pamela Love for Accessories, and Study NY for Sustainable Design.
This marks the tenth anniversary for the famed winery’s fashion foundation, which has spent $1 million launching the careers of over 60 designers. Molly Davis, marketing director for Ecco Domani wines, celebrates with the following statement: “Ten years ago Ecco Domani created this program to recognize those talented emerging designers who were on the forefront of innovation in their industry. Today we are proud of the impact the Foundation has had on the careers of our illustrious alumni and reaffirm our commitment to helping the best and brightest achieve success and own their place in the world of fashion.”
