Miami got a bite of fash week fever when Oscar de la Renta and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center teamed up for Designed for a Cure, a philanthropic fashion show. Over 800 guests gathered to watch Sylvester’s patients, survivors, and doctors walk the runway, interspersed between gorge gowns from de la Renta’s Spring collection. While the designer donated $100,000 of his own money to cancer research, over $850,000 was collected over the course of the eve. There’s nothing quite like the combination of chic designs, an iconic designer, and a generous crowd gathering for a good cause.
