Condé Nast Traveler Toasts Its November Issue

Last eve, the globetrotting Condé Nast Traveler crowd hit up Haven’s Kitchen in Chelsea to celebrate the glossy’s November issue with “A Taste of Médoc”-themed bash. The mag’s EIC, Pilar Guzman, and the issue’s cover story star, cookbook author, Médoc resident, and all-around chicette Mimi Thorisson, the mag’s creative director Yolanda Edwards, and recently-minted style director Sarah Meikle were on hand for the shindig. Guests included Food52 founder (and former New York Times food editor) Amanda Hesser, Calvin Klein’s Nacole Snoep, cookbook writer extraordinaire Julia Turshen (you know her work if you’ve ever flipped through Gwyneth Paltrow‘s tomes!), and more. The vino was, unsurprisingly, from the Médoc region: the crowd sipped on a Bourdeaux, Lynch-Bages 2004. As for the nibbles? Charcuterie and cheese from D’artagnan was on offer, along with a few concoctions from Thorisson’s book: braised shortrib, gougeres, mushroom vol-au-vent, and more.
