Condé Nast Traveler Taps Pilar Guzmán As New EIC

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) Rumors had been circulating that Anna Wintour‘s next big target chez Condé Nast would be Condé Nast Traveler and there seems to be some truth to the whisperings. The travel title has appointed Pilar Guzmán as its new editor-in-chief, replacing Klara Glowczewska, who had been at the helm of the magazine since 2005. Guzmán was formerly with Condé Nast’s Cookie magazine, which  folded in 2009, but had recently won a National Magazine Award for general excellence in the lifestyle category for Martha Stewart Living, where she was recently VP and editor-in-chief since March of 2011. She joins Bill Wackermann, formerly of Glamour, who was recently appointed as the new publisher. So what was Anna’s role in this new Condé masthead change? Guzmán referenced her directly in her press statement,  saying she “looks forward to drawing upon the insights and vision of the company’s artistic director, Anna Wintour.” That pretty much sums it up, non? Bonne chance to Guzmán on her big Conde return!
