Chloé traveled to the hills of Puglia in Southern Italy, using the region’s beauty as the backdrop for its Fall/Winter 2016 campaign. Bringing in luxe Mediterranean vibes, models posed against pale stone strata and white-washed villages, showcasing the brand’s newest designs. Think: motocross trousers, shearling outwear, and iconic flou pieces that were inspired by the journals of French explorer Anna France Dautheville—she’s famous for traveling the globe on her motorbike in the early ’70s.
Theo Wenner photographed the campaign for the maison, where he experimented with natural light, the effects of moving fabric, as well as the “filmic depth of grain,” according to the campaign release. The photos feature a cast of girls who walked the brand’s fall/winter runway show, but are new to the ad scene. The lineup includes beauties Sofie Hemmet, Michi Kat, Ellen De Weer, and Frederikke Sofie. “There is such a bold sense of duality in this collection—that natural toughness and fragility of women side by side,” said creative director Clare Waight Keller. “She is nonchalant, but also quite fearless—and very much alive!”
