Happiest Birthday to the lovely June Ambrose who turns (redacted) today. We’re loving that June was born in the month of June. We suspect this is not a coincidence! The stylist shares her birthday with Suze Orman, Mark Wahlberg, Pete Wentz, Wayne Brady, and Kenny G. She will no doubt ring in her new year looking flawless as always.

You think a little CFDA Awards night is going to slow us down? Nah! Last night the fashion folk hit Lafayette (Andrew Carmellini’s new place) to attend the J.Crew CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund dinner while everybody is still in town. Anna Wintour, Jenna Lyons, and Steven Kolb joined Pamela Love, Erin Beatty, Max Osterweis, Tabitha Simmons, Wes Gordon, Jennifer Meyer, and Mickey Drexler at the new Noho haute spot.

Giorgio Armani is giving back to the kids. The brand will be hosting Armani/Teatro, the collections of Italy’s new gen of designers in Milan. First up? Hot new designer, Andrea Pompilio’s presentation of his Spring/Summer 2014 collection. (We featured Pompilio as a name you need to know last June when we met him at Pitti Uomo).

The party rotation was robust apres-CFDA Awards last night: some headed east to the Four Seasons Restaurant to continue celebrating Lifetime Achievement Award winner Vera Wang, others went to the official, Swarovski-sponsored shindig at the Boom Boom Room. The latter skewed a bit younger, and was rife with mods, though there was enough overlap the boldfaced name game would bode redundant. But we simply have to play favorites in the party photo category, and the winner has to be the Westway throwdown hosted by Carine Roitfeld and V’s Stephen Gan (ever the raucous-bash purveyors!) in honor of Riccardo Tisci. See for yourselves in our Gallery, fashionettes…

You can always count on the Cushnie et Ochs gals, Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs, to add a little scintillation to any event, dress code be damned. Behold last night’s Karlie Kloss sandwich, which is so sizzling you’ll have to excuse us while we crank up the A.C. and perhaps pop some sunnies on. As for the designer of that slick, glossy, cut downtothere number on Karlie? Cushnie et Ochs, obvi.

Crisp B&W was Hilary Rhoda’s stylish M.O. for the CFDAs, and the angular, piece-y Helmut Lang haltered number got the full sophisticate effect thanks to those rouge lips, glossy center part, and delicately strappy Jimmy Choos. Lest you needed a reminder of how swell a classic look can be…

Actress Ellie Kemper got frank about that beautifully beaded Naeem Khan number: it’s hefty, yes, but allows for a breeze. Hooray! Also: Kemper’s love of evening workouts and seaside loathing, discussed. J’adore that dress! Details, please.
It’s Naeem Khan Fall 2013. It’s so gorgeous! And surprisingly comfortable, because there’s a lot of airflow in the back. But it is heavy. -
Last night, Jessica Stam was canary yellow-clad, punkily-coiffured (inspired by the Met Ball, love?), and ready to discuss fishy matters… Where will we find you on the Fourth of July?
My boyfriend’s family usually throws a big party! I’ll probably just be with them in Connecticut. What is your favorite summer activity?
You can definitely find me on the beach. -
Grace Coddington couldn’t decide whether to go for a twilight jog in Central Park or attend the CFDA Awards last night, so she paired her noir kicks with an all-black ensemble (that fiery coif is an accessory in and of itself) and ended up at Lincoln Center. Coddington’s always been all about flats, and we’re all about comfort being in Vogue, but we highly doubt we’ll be seeing sneakers en masse at the 2014 CFDA Awards, alas…

Have you ever seen this much elation on a (oh so very packed) step-and-repeat? Last night’s host Andy Cohen and presenter Ethan Hawke (ever the CFDA Awards fixture, non?) look so happy and huggy, their affection is rather infectious. Yay, CFDAs!
