Harper’s Bazaar is bringing their A-game for September with a series of covers featuring iconic women, namely Lady Gaga (in Chanel), Penelope Cruz (in Dior), and Linda Evangelista (in Comme des Garcons), fronting the special issue. In what’s being billed as global fashion director Carine Roitfeld‘s biggest project yet, they’ve nabbed 19 icons in all and the list is impressive. Cindy Crawford, Lara Stone, Joan Smalls, Claudia Schiffer, Mariacarla Boscono, Stephanie Seymour, Isabeli Fontana, Laetitia Casta, Monica Bulucci, Gigi Hadid, Brooke Shields, Eva Herzogiva, Stacy Martin, Lauren Hutton, and Iman were shot for a portfolio that will appear in the September issue of 30 editions of the magazine. (This is a pretty good sign that models are officially baaaaaaaaaaaack!) The epic project started in March with creative direction by Stephen Gan and shot by Sebastian Faena in New York, London, and Madrid. Inside the issue, Karl Lagerfeld interviews Gaga where they talk about her pup, Asia, and the love of his life, Choupette. (Who we know you’ve heard about if you’re reading this site.) The Kaiser asks Gaga if the two most famous animals in the world should meet and if Asia has her own personal maid, like Choupette. “They most certainly must meet!” The Lady tells him. “Asia is very sweet and calm. She would be very gentle with Choupette. She does not have a personal maid yet, but I adore making her little presents and cooking her homemade puppy food.” There you have it. The new issue of Harper’s hits stands on August 19th. You can check out the full porfolio on their website. Well done, all.
