Best of Pre-Fall 2016: Victoria Beckham, Altuzarra, Akris

by Paige Reddinger
Pre-Fall 2016 is in full swing and The Daily has been busy attending what feels like hundreds of previews. Over the next week we’ll present the key looks and styles from each collection for a roundup of the latest trends and must-have pieces from all of the top collections.
Label: Victoria Beckham
Inspiration: “I really wanted to explore our separates even further, focusing on creating a wearable wardrobe of multilayered options for my customer to choose from. Pieces can be easily styled together, so she can really start to merchandise the collection for herself. This sense of versatility and the ability to layer different weights and silhouettes is something I feel strongly about. This is how I am building my own wardrobe and I wanted to represent this idea within the collection.” —Victoria Beckham
Highlights: Japanese denim, light knitwear, tailored tweed, slip dresses, and bold colors.
Label: Altuzarra
Inspiration: “This pre-fall collection was inspired by the playful femininity of the Thirties, the boldness and whimsy of the Sixties, and the ease and eclecticism of the Nineties. The collection’s references span many decades, imagining a wardrobe assembled over time.” —Joseph Altuzarra
Highlights: Killer hangbags (like the below in Elderflower Blue), oversized sequined paillettes, and subtly statement-making outwear.
Label: Akris
Inspiration: Creative director Albert Kriemler‘s African safari escape at The Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.
Highlights: Sequined evening dresses in lush hues, shiny anoraks, and a pair of to-die-for orange leather belled pants.
