10 Best Collections From Paris Fashion Week

by Charles Manning

Paris Fashion Week has come to an end and what a gorgeous sight it was. Take a look back through some of the most memorable collections of the season and start your shopping lists now, because spring will be here sooner than you think.

1. Paco Rabanne
This season, creative director Julien Dossena put forth his most compelling collection for Paco Rabanne to date — mixing metal, lace and silk with such a deft and subtle hand as to make even the most Coachella-weary among us dare to believe in the beauty of boho once again.

2. Valentino
Pierpaolo Piccoli can do no wrong. What is there even to say? The clothes speak for themselves. Elegant, sophisticated, vibrant, and just plain gorgeous.

3. Dries Van Noten
The lighter and brighter side of Dries Van Noten is always a joy to behold and the man has a way of mixing prints and textures that few, if any, can match.

4. Haider Ackermann
It’s just so freaking cool.

5. Thom Browne
The styling of the collection was problematic. Yes. This is true. As the models teetered along in painfully high heels, their arms laced to their sides, it seemed all but inevitable that at least one of them would end up face-planting on the runway, unable to catch herself in the midst of her fall. Luckily, no models were hurt in the making of this show, which, if you can look past the styling, featured some of the most beautiful, whimsical, and painstakingly-wrought clothing on an runway this season.
