Vogue UK just got more beautiful! Makeup guru Pat McGrath was just named beauty editor-at-large at the glossy. Beyond being a mainstay at fashion weeks and a creative force for many fashion campaigns, McGrath is the mastermind behind her namesake makeup brand that’s been known to sellout on more than one occasion. In her new role, she’ll be working with her friend and collaborator, editor-in-chief Edward Enninful. Enninful worked alongside McGrath for her first big gigs, in the early 1990s, when he was fashion director at i-D magazine.
“It is an honor to be part of my dear friend Edward’s vision for British Vogue,” said McGrath in a statement. “Throughout my career, I’ve had the good fortune to work closely with the world’s best designers, stylists, photographers, models, and creative professionals. Now I’m thrilled to be part of this extraordinary team at Vogue; pushing the boundaries of beauty and artistry, while honoring the past and the esteem of this prestigious publication.”
McGrath’s accolades include MBE, Member of the Order of the British Empire, the 2017 CFDA Founder’s Award, and a spot on Vogue’s “most influential” list. She’s been a force in the beauty world since the early ’90s, and she’s worked closely with Steven Meisel, American, British, and Italian Vogue, and has headed up beauty for Prada, Miu Miu, and Giorgio Armani.
