Barneys Says, "Man Up!"

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) A truly dapper crowd gathered at Barneys yesterday evening to celebrate the newly renovated 6th floor men’s shop for the retailer’s “Man Up” event. It’s not a party without a worthy cause, so Barneys New York CEO Mark Lee and UNICEF Chairman of the Board David Sable teamed up to dedicate the evening to UNICEF’s U.S. Fund. The organization was on hand hosting a Key Party, offering guests the chance to win fab goodies by purchasing a key that would hopefully unlock one of the display cases on the floor containing steals like a sampling of men’s clothing, La Mer beauty products, and even a Lanvin briefcase. If only we were so lucky!

We spotted the likes of Federica Marchionni, Michael McCabe, and Michael Bastian. The rest of the guest list read more like next season’s team roster! We mingled with a number of star athletes including Mason Plumlee of the Brooklyn Nets, Jared Jefferies, and New York Rangers’ center Brad Richards and goaltender (and event co-host) Henrik Lundqvist. All of which are the perfect clientele for Barneys’ custom made to measure suits!

Of course, we had to find out what the handsome goalie was wearing. “Andrea Campagna,” he told us. “It’s the first time I’m wearing his jacket, but I must say it fit me right away.” Lundqvist also gave the scoop on what he’s been up to the past few months (summer in Sweden!) and his newfound ties to UNICEF. “I really respect UNICEF and what they do all over the world. This is the first time we are interacting, but we’ll see if we do something down the road. They do a great job!”

Handmade, Prohibition-esque cocktails flowed, thanks to Milos Zica of Employees Only. With a drink in one hand, guests also picked up a handsome accessory, the #4 cigar, courtesy of local shop Martinez Cigars, which were hand rolled right on site. All of this plus, Mr. Lundqvist? Smokin’.
