Balenciaga’s Website Undergoes A Facelift

by Paige Reddinger

Today, Balenciaga unveiled a website redesign that was part of a yearlong structural overhaul involving a new aesthetic and a new logo by creative director Alexander Wang. The site was redesigned in collaboration with creative agency Fantasy Interactive and Yoox. The site will be compatible with all devices and will be linked to social media platforms. Plus, the site will be available in seven different languages and the homepage features the Spring/Summer 2015 runway show. While you’re perusing the new layout, you will probably be wanting to shop or at least lusting after all the must-haves. The good news is, looks shot on models can be viewed 360 degrees, and you can zoom in to view the fabrics and details up-close. “I envisioned an essential Balenciaga site that conveyed the creativity of the brand in every click and swipe: the same degree of detail and finesse as in the collections,” said Wang in a press statement. But our favorite part of the site, which details the brands’ history, shows a chic black and white image of a dapper and handsome Cristóbal Balenciaga in 1937 juxtaposed with an equally handsome portrait of Wang from 2012, heralding in the new era and booming business of Balenciaga in the 21st century.
