New year, new you, new director of PR at Calvin Klein. Today, the brand announced the appointment of Christopher Martinelli as director of public relations, men’s wear and men’s celebrity. He will oversee domestic PR efforts for menâ€™s clothing and accessories for Calvin Klein Collection, Calvin Klein, Calvin Klein Jeans, and Calvin Klein Underwear. Martinelli will report to Malcolm Carfrae, Calvin Klein Inc’s EVP of global communications. He succeeds Josh Reed, who left the company to pursue other interests and move to California. Previously, Martinelli served as VP of communications at Starworks Group.
As The Daily reported on December 27, LagardÃ¨re has engaged in exclusive talks with Hearst concerning the sale of its international press and magazine business. The French conglomerate made the announcement on December 31. The two parties have set a January 30 deadline to negotiate the all-cash transaction. The German conglomerate Bauer Publications and Meredith Corporation were also reported to be in the running, but it appears that they are now off the table.
