Aritzia’s Summer Campaign Celebrates Escapism and Creativity

Aritzia

As one of Canada’s most talked-about fashion brands, Aritzia has become known for its innovative ad campaigns and editorial strategy. For Summer 2016, the brand enlisted photographer Annemarieke Van Drimmelen, who contributes to The Gentlewoman and Holiday, and DNA model Waleska Gorczevski, who has appeared in LOVE and i-D and graced numerous runways, to create images that celebrate the art of escapism. Styled by Emily Barnes, the project was photographed in Arizona and aims to show the allure of removing oneself from everyday life. It’s a dynamic time for the brand—next week, Aritzia is introducing handbags as part of its Babaton brand, along with a collection of deconstructed, layer-able knitwear everyday items called The Group. On the retail front, Aritzia is expanding into Babaton-specific brick-and-mortar locations, with the first outpost debuting in Toronto in November 2016. Shop the collection here.
