The worlds of shoes and fine jewelry collide in a new capsule collection designed by Aquazzura in collaboration with five jewelry designers— Anissa Kermiche, Sabine Getty, Noor Fares, Eugenie Niarchos and Ana Khouri — and available exclusively on Net-a-Porter.
“Each girl is not only a designer I admire, but a friend and a woman whose style I love,” said Aquazzura’s creative director, Edgardo Osorio. “Creating each shoe together to connect the world of jewelry and footwear was a fascinating journey. Each shoe is as unique as the women that inspire them.”
“As a jewelry designer, you must find a way to accentuate the natural elegance of what are arguably the most beautiful materials found on earth,” explained Khouri, who crafted an embellished kitten heel. “I want my work to be ethereal. This was always on my mind when designing [my] Mirian Bracelet, and I felt there was no better piece that translated into a shoe to impart such feeling.”
Khouri wasn’t alone in working with Osorio to transform her pieces into footwear design. Kermiche also found ways to include specific details on her heeled sandals. “We worked together on turning one of my signature earrings — Rondeur Triple — into a heel, and designing a shoe that followed the curvy lines of my jewelry,” she explained.
Three of the five designers also posed in their creations for the campaign.
The result is an incredibly chic and eclectic collection. In addition to Kermiche’s sandals and Khouri’s kitten heels are heeled platforms by Niarchos, mules by Getty, and ankle boots by Fares. The collection will be available on Net-a-Porter November 23rd.
