That Time PVC Pants Caused Angelina Jolie to Lose Out on a Role

Angelina Jolie has never been one to shy away from political issues, and her latest interview in Harper’s Bazaar is no different. The actress and humanitarian opened up about everything from violence against women, to whether or not Hollywood has adequately handled the #MeToo movement. But despite the heavier topics, the magazine still managed to get some cute anecdotes out of the star.

For example, when asked about how she dressed when she was younger, Jolie confirmd that she was more of a punk, favoring leather, PVC, and fishnets. But the fabrics — while chic — weren’t necessarily the most practical choices. “I remember the first time I wore PVC pants,” she said. “I was waiting for an audition, sitting in the sun in L.A. By the time it was my turn, my pants had fused together. I didn’t get the part. But I loved those pants. I wore something similar when I married Jonny [Lee Miller].”

Later in the piece, when discussing her ties to Cambodia, Jolie revealed that her home there currently has a unique problem. “We got a call the other day informing us that chipmunks have moved into the house,” she said. “They asked if we should remove them, and Vivienne was very clear that we needed to cover the wires and let them stay. However, the local snakes may have their own opinion on that. The last time I stayed there, I heard screaming down the hall because a friend had found a giant lizard under their pillow. Clearly, the animals are there more than I am and they feel it is their home.”
