The fashionable path from London, England to Savannah, Georgia might not be a straight line, but that’s not stopping Vivienne Westwood. The rebellious designer will stop by the charming Southern town on May 15th to receive Savannah College of Art and Design’s André Leon Talley Lifetime Achievement Award. Talley will present the award to Dame Westwood, in addition to curating an exhibition of 25 designs that represent her iconic label. The exhibit, filled with iconic wares, will be open to the public from May 19 to September 13. The award ceremony dovetails with the school’s graduation, which includes a student-run fashion show on May 16. Previous honorees to scoop up this award have included John Galliano, Calvin Klein’s Francisco Costa, Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Rentaand Karl Lagerfeld. Talley has been increasingly involved at SCAD for over a decade and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees at the college.
