“The world’s greatest flyers [who] fly American” should expect a chic surprise when traveling American Airlines today. As of this morning, more than 70,000 American Airlines employees debuted their new highly-anticipated uniforms. Pilots, flight attendants, and customer service agents all received a wardrobe update, the first initiative of its kind in almost 30 years. The project represents the final step in the American Airlines + US Airways merger, which officially closed in 2013. To celebrate the new uniforms, American Airlines is gifting above-the-wing employees with exclusively-designed Cole Haan accessories, including bags that were created with employees’ roles in mind. The designer uniform is officially a trend: last year, Delta tapped Zac Posen for the task.
