Altuzarra is taking its Spring/Summer 2018 collection to Paris Fashion Week come September, yet another brand to depart from its New York Fashion Week showing. “I was born and raised in Paris and the city holds a very deep personal significance for me,” designer Joseph Altuzarra said in a statement. “This has been a dream of mine since the very beginning and now the time feels right. I am honored to be invited by La Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode to show in my hometown of Paris.”
According to the release, the move reinforces Altuzarra’s brand identity and signals its intention to accelerate international growth. Altuzarra joins the likes of Proenza Schouler, Tommy Hilfiger, Rodarte, Rebecca Minkoff, and Rachel Zoe in its NYFW exit, and brands like Opening Ceremony and Vetements, which are veering away from traditional runway show formats in general.
