Independence, rebellion, and adventure — Joseph Altuzarra has brought all these concepts together for his new Pre-Fall collection for 2019. “I was inspired by a fierce and fearless new muse — part globetrotting collector, traveling the world in search of treasures and part Romantic rebel, modeled on the eighties-era New Romantics,” the designer said. “I wanted this collection to marry the spirit of travel and exploration with the rebellious attitude of the notorious dandies. This central tension gives the collection its energy and dynamism.”
As a lover of all things ’80s, and an absolute stan for Altuzarra, I was bound to love this collection. But biases aside, the new espadrille bucket bag is to die for. It appears to be just the right size to comfortably carry daytime necessities (including, perhaps, a book) while being aesthetically distinct enough to be a contender for next season’s It bag.
