(NEW YORK) Allure has a new addition to its beauty-chronicling fleet of eds: Britt Aboutaleb has joined the Conde glossy as its first-ever multimedia director. Aboutaleb will spearhead editorial and ad integrations, product development, and e-commerce-focused strategy for the mag.

Most recently, Aboutaleb has been editorial director at Byrdie.com, an L.A.-based online beauty site, for the past year. Her previous gigs include beauty director at Who What Wear (which is owned by the same company, Clique Media, as Byrdie) and a stint as online style news editor at ELLE. Prior to that, Aboutaleb spent three years at Fashionista; she joined the publication as an intern in 2007, and worked her way up the ranks to become the site’s editor. Before getting into the editorial fold, the Boston University grad briefly worked in the PR department at Stella McCartney.

“This position capitalizes on the growing importance of multiplatform content distribution and the power of the right technology at the right time to engage consumers in the right way,” said Marie Jones, director of communications and general manager of digital media at Allure, in a statement from the magazine.
