Adam Glassman on O Magazine’s Latest Capsule Collection with Talbots

by Kristen Heinzinger

O Magazine has teamed up with Talbots for a second year for its Dress for Success initiative, helping to design a nine-piece capsule collection that’s sold in stores and online. Last year, the partnership garnered $1 million for the charity, and helped over 20,000 women. This season, O tapped influencers and ambassadors to model the collection in its March issue, including Hilaria Baldwin, Sara Haines of The View, Jill Martin of Today, “The Great Comet” actor Denée Benton, producer and Broadway actor Sas Goldberg, and blogger Katie Sturino (whose famous dog is Toast).

We caught up with O Mag’s creative director Adam Glassman about his second season working on the capsule with Talbots. “This collaboration, we have a scarf, a bag, a polka-dot cardigan, a really cute striped shell, a corsage, and four bangles. I felt it was important that we could give people things they could wear right now—see now, buy now, wear now! Our specialty is attention to detail, from the grosgrain ribbon to a touch of lipstick-red thread. I love the whole idea of pattern mixing, especially with the stripes. The florals really came from Oprah, who loves her English Country Rose garden. What’s key about these pieces is that there are multiple ways to wear them, like the silk square scarf—you don’t need to wear it like an airline stewardess. You can tie it on your bag, you can wrap it around your wrist, which is a very modern way of doing it, or you can also wear it as a belt. This whole notion of styling three generations of women is our thing at O and Talbots’ thing as well.” Check out the full collection HERE.
