The countdown to holiday vacation has begun! We asked these fashion trailblazers to reveal where they’ll be jet-setting to. Consider this a little festive inspiration…
Laura Brown, executive editor, Harper’s Bazaar
“I’ll be in London and then L.A., because that’s practical. Spending time with friends in sweaters and T-shirts, respectively.”
Alessandra Ambrosio, model
“The holidays are all about family and eating for me. I’ll be in the south of Brazil—it’s really warm there, so I’ll be in my bikini. I love Christmas and buying presents for everyone.”
Behati Prinsloo, model
“I will be at home with my family doing every holiday tradition you can imagine.”
J.J Martin, street style star and founder of ladoublej.com
“My husband and I do the same routine every holiday season. First, we go to Pesaro on the Adriatic coast of Italy to visit his family for Christmas, then on the 26th, we drive up to St. Moritz and spend 10 days in the mountains. We rent a home and ski, hike, throw dinner parties, see friends—it’s amazing how many Italians run away to Switzerland for the holidays. It’s like winter summer camp. I bump into a lot of fashion people, like Moncler’s Remo Ruffini, Karla Otto, and Jil Sander’s Rodolfo Paglialunga.”
Caroline Issa, designer and editor
“I will be spending my holiday eating my way through Singapore’s finest street food kiosks and local markets. I’ll be visiting my Singaporean family and escaping our typical Canadian white winter with something tropical and foodie. Usually Christmas in Singapore is a bit disconcerting—all the fake snow and decorations amongst the palm trees and heat—but I’m so excited to just eat and get some humidity for a week with close family.”
Claire Distenfeld, owner of Fivestory
“My fiancé and I are going to Amanera, the new Aman in Dominican Republic to just tun out, relax, and do a lot of nothing, which to me is defined as yoga, ocean, reading, eating, smiling, laughing, happy.”
