Survivors of last Saturday’s Snowmaggedon will testify you don’t actually have to hit the slopes to be knee deep in powder. With the mercury continuing to drop—and more white stuff on the way—we rounded up some expert style tips and hit picks to keep you chic on and off the piste.

“Lose the marshmallow look and keep things streamlined with a sleek down coat. If you must layer, avoid the bulk with a luxe cashmere sweater.” —Elisa Dahan co-creative director and founder of Mackage

“If you are out and about at your resort, you are going to encounter some slush so think about the colors you wear. This year’s hot hues are striking and practical.” —-Sarah Rutson, Net-A-Porter VP of global buying (who advocates fiery reds and fresh blues)

“Invest in the right gear. You need stylish but functional boots—think good tread and long lengths—and warm, sheepskin-lined gloves.” —Eran Elfassy, co-creative director and founder of Mackage

“For a stylish apres-ski closet, opt for simple pieces with statement details. On my packing list for Gstaad this season are skinny leather pants, elaborate knits, a quilted jacket and Aquazzura’s fringed moon boots.” —Rutson

A fox fur stole is the ultimate winter essential to keep you cozy—not to mention fabulously fashionable—according to the fashion editors at Harper’s Bazaar.

Yes these are pretty fashions statements, but as long as they aren’t killing animals for fur, thats great otherwise I wouldn’t endorse these clothes. I wear faux fur and its just as nice. J Marra
